Email Correspondence

Composition tasks in this course focus on email correspondence, which is the most frequently encountered genre to Chinese learners based on research (Liu, 2014). With the development of the storyline, students imitate the tone of different characters in the novel, writing letters with various communicative intention, such as to apologize, to make confession or to make complaints.

In addition to writing as/to the fictional character, students are also encouraged to write to the author or the scriptwriter to express their opinions about the novel or its TV drama adaptation.
